About Property Video Solutions

Founded in 2017 by Matt Lee and Chris England, Property Video Solutions are a professional film and photography company specialising in the real estate sector. Initially Matt, who owned AM Media, and Chris, who ran England's Finest Photography, were in direct competition. That is, until they realised that joining forces was the best way to grow both their businesses!

The Challenge

Although the business had got off to a strong start, with Matt and Chris being the company's only cameramen, further growth was always going to be challenging. To take their business to the next level they knew that they needed to increase their capacity by putting another camera team into the field. However, this required not only a new member of staff but also specialist equipment including cameras, audio and lighting equipment, and editing stations.

The Solution

The Economic Development Team at South Kesteven Council pointed Chris in the direction of Grants4Growth, an ERDF-funded grant scheme aimed specifically at growing small-to-medium-sized businesses within Lincolnshire. A grant of £3,347was approved, allowing PVS to invest in new equipment and hire the additional camera operator they needed to take their business to the next level.

Chris said: "The process was really straightforward, and the Grants4Growth team were really helpful. If we had a question the answer was only a phone call away!"

What's next?

Before the grant, Property Video Solutions were a team of five, including three regular freelancers. Thanks to the funding, Chris and Matt will be taking on their first PAYE employee this summer - the aforementioned camera operator! They also predict a 50% increase in productivity this year and are hoping the additional capacity will allow them to expand into new markets.

Chris said: "Grants4Growth helped us to double our capacity - we've accelerated our growth by at least a year! I'd definitely tell other businesses to go for it."
