What was the process taken for acquiring the grant?
Kay Pryszlak, director of Bernard Holmes, contacted Grants4Growthfor funding support, having accessed the funding programme on a previous occasion. She knew that the process for the grant would include the quick turnaround that she needed to purchase the equipment, in order to expand the capacity of the business to meet the extra demand. Kay was guided through the process quickly and received the grant approval within a month of the application.
How has the grant received from Grants4Growth helped the business?
The Matsuura machine, being fully automated, has helped to improve productivity by reducing machining downtime and providing additional production capacity for the Billingborough based family business.
Off the back of the investment, Bernard Holmes forecasted an increase in turnover of between 10-20% and an opportunity to create an additional two or three new jobs.
Kay said "Small businesses don't have time for unnecessary forms or red tape. We were introduced to our Business Broker and were guided through the whole process. Within a couple of days our application was in and two weeks later we had our grant offer!"
